Since I was having my phone lines upgraded I decided to replace the wall phone in the kitchen. This is a basic phone and is good if you don't need an answering machine or if you don't have a nearby outlet. I like that it has caller id. It will be interesting to see how long the alkaline batteries last(needed for caller id). The only drawback is the short cord that comes in the box,

Was having a good bit of difficulty with my home system of communication. In fact, the problems necessitated a service visit. My system was upgraded AND it was discovered that my phone may be a continued source of strife (and it really wasn't a good time to be having difficulty with my phone...as if it was ever a good time for that). Anyway, this new phone has been a welcome replacement. The only drawback is the necessity to get a longer cord to extend the distance between the receiver and the base.

NEEDED A CORDED PHONE FOR EMERGENCIES. SERVICEMAN RECOMMENDED A CORDED PHONE AS WHEN POWERE GOES DOWN, THE CORDED PHONE STILL WORKS AS AT &T HAS POWER ON THE LINE. GREAT PHONE FOR THE PRICE.
